Product Description

The Edison Long Billiard Table Light is a solid brass light that hangs from two brass rods. It is designed for a billiard, pool or snooker table, and works just as well over a long dining table or kitchen island.

It has four lamp holders, each with a 2¼” gallery to hold a shade. Both rods carry power, so both need to be wired in. The main photo shows clear glass coolie shades with the antique brass finish.

Each light is made by hand to order in our workshop. Precision brass parts and careful assembly make it strong enough for commercial as well as home use.

Shades

Choose your shade from the Shade Type menu. Each shade is shown in the photo when you select it.

Note: Our shades are handmade, so small imperfections can occur. If any shade looks out of place, we’ll happily replace it so your set matches.

Prefer your own shades? Choose “No shade or Gallery” or “No Shades” and fit any shade with a 2¼” gallery fitting. You can also choose bare bulb with a “no gallery” metal shade, or add a larger gallery and shade.

Pendant Drop

Solid brass rods stop the light swaying where there is air movement, such as near air conditioning or a doorway. For a cable-hung version, see our Vintage Edison Extra Long Billiard Table Pendant.

The rods screw into the ceiling canopy, so we need the exact length when you order. Choose the drop from the ceiling canopy to the top of the shade in the Pendant Suspension Drop menu. Your total drop is that length plus the height of your shade.

For longer drops, the rods are made in more than one piece, joined with decorative couplers. This also lets us ship them in screw-together sections, which keeps shipping costs down.

Placement Tips

For pool, snooker or billiards, hang the light about 800mm (32″) above the table. Metal shades are the better choice over a playing table because they cut glare in the players’ eyes. For larger tables, use two lights end to end or side by side. Over a kitchen island or long dining table, any of our shades will suit.

Voltage and Ceiling Roses

Choose E27 for 230V countries (Australia, NZ, UK) or E26 for 120V countries (USA, Canada) from the Voltage menu. Choose your ceiling rose in the same menu: 66mm or 90mm brass roses to match the hardware, or 4″ painted cast iron roses. For 120V, the menu includes canopies to fit a 4″ J-box. Our 120V versions use UL-listed components, but the light fitting itself is not UL listed.

Shipping and Installation

We ship this light in separate components to meet local and international packing requirements. Glass shades are always packed apart from the heavy brass parts, and all shades, rods and ceiling plates are packed detached. Extra-long lights may arrive in two lengths that simply screw together before installation.

Your electrician can use the product photos as a guide. Fit the shades only once the light is fully installed.

Finishes

Choose your hardware finish from the Hardware Colour menu: antique brass, bronze plated brass, nickel plated brass, Polished Brass (also known as New Brass) lacquered or not lacquered, or brushed brass. Antique brass, bronze and lacquered finishes are coated so they won’t tarnish; clean them with a non-abrasive furniture polish. Unlacquered polished brass tarnishes naturally over time; polish it with Brasso® to keep the shine.

Globes

Takes any E27 globe (light bulb), including vintage filament and LED filament globes. Globes are not included; choose them from the globe menu.
