Product Description

The Plumbing Pipe Billiard Table Light with Gallery Shades is an industrial-style light for a billiard, pool or snooker table. It also makes a striking feature light over a large dining table or bar.

It is shown with three 270mm spun metal shades. Other shades, including a large Holophane glass dish, fit with a separate gallery mount; choose bare bulb to fit your own. Choose a width of 1206mm (pictured), 1306mm or 1406mm. Note that the large Holophane glass shades add about 9kg to the weight.

The design is based on an original 1930s farm-made fitting, and we custom-bend the pipe for the two outer lights. It hangs from a single steel pipe with a cast steel canopy, which is also the wiring point. The light weighs around 6kg, so it needs a secure mount in the ceiling cavity.

Pendant Drop

Choose the drop from the ceiling to the top of the shade. The minimum is 350mm, to keep the light a comfortable distance from the ceiling. Most shades for this light are 190mm deep, so allow for this when working out your total drop.

Placement Tips

For pool, snooker or billiards, hang the light about 800mm (32″) above the table. Metal shades are the better choice over a playing table because they cut glare in the players’ eyes.

Voltage

Choose E27 for 230V countries (Australia, NZ, UK) or E26 for 120V countries (USA, Canada). The 120V version comes with a 4″ J-box cover in the same finish as the pipe. Our 120V versions use UL-listed components, but the light fitting itself is not UL listed.

Shipping and Installation

We ship this light in separate components to meet local and international packing requirements. The shades, ceiling plate and any pipe extensions are packed detached.

Your electrician can use the product photos as a guide. Fit the shades only once the light is fully installed.

Finishes

Choose the pipe finish from the menu: galvanised (standard), raw steel rubbed with linseed oil, flat black painted, or stripped and rusted (see gallery images). The rusted finish will keep ageing slightly. A coat of Penetrol seals in a darker, rustic look. The lamp holders and galleries come in Polished Brass (also known as New Brass), antique brass, bronze or nickel plated brass.

Globes

Pictured with ST64 vintage filament globes. Any E27 globe (light bulb) can be used, including LED. Globes are not included; choose them from the globe menu.
