Product Description

The Large Braced Brass Plumbing Pipe Billiard Table Light is an industrial-style light for a regular or full-size billiard, pool or snooker table. It also suits a large dining table, bar or kitchen bench.

Solid brass lamp holders attach to the fitting with special 25mm (1″) solid brass plumbing pipe parts. Solid brass bracing rods are formed by hand to add strength and give the light its look.

It comes with three large 360mm gloss painted steel shades. Other shades also fit: choose “No shade” when ordering, then add three of our larger non-gallery shades to your cart separately. A large Holophane glass shade option is now available: choose “No shade”, then add the large Holophane shades separately.

The design is based on an original farm-made fitting from the early 1900s. It hangs from solid brass pipe and cast brass flanges, which are also the wiring points. The light weighs around 20kg, so it needs a secure mount in the ceiling cavity.

Pendant Drop

This light is best suited to a room with a ceiling height of at least 3m (10 feet). See the gallery image. The design needs a drop of at least 950mm from the ceiling to the bottom of the shade.

Placement Tips

For pool, snooker or billiards, hang the light about 800mm (32″) above the table. Metal shades are the better choice over a playing table because they cut glare in the players’ eyes.

Materials

Because the brass pipe parts are threaded, some tool marks remain after assembly. We clean these up to a degree, but a high-polish finish isn’t available on plumbing pipe parts, and the cast surfaces are left on the joints. This adds to the light’s industrial character.

Voltage

Choose E27 for 230V countries (Australia, NZ, UK) or E26 for 120V countries (USA, Canada).

Shipping and Installation

We ship this light in separate components to meet local and international packing requirements. Glass shades are always packed apart from the heavy brass parts, and all shades and ceiling plate parts are packed detached. Longer lights may arrive in sections that simply screw together before installation.

Your electrician can use the product photos as a guide. Fit the shades only once the light is fully installed.

Globes

Any E27 globe (light bulb) can be used, including LED. For the brightest vintage-look LED with these large shades, we recommend the 11 watt C100. Globes are not included; choose them from the globe menu.
